Monde Ami, Inc. was formed in November 2005.

Its founder members, Claire Melville and Paul Melville, want to encourage everyone to make better environmental choices in their daily activies.

Starting from their home office in San Jose, California, Monde Ami first began offering stylish, low-cost reusable shopping bags at local fair venues while also working to form alliances with local schools, corporations and retail outlets to get wider exposure of this product to the public.
